The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) registered a decisive victory in the 2025 Kerala local body elections, while the Left Democratic Front (LDF) suffered a significant setback. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) also made history by securing its first-ever win in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.

The outcome is being viewed as a major morale boost for the UDF ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, even as the LDF’s last-minute push to attract voters through a range of welfare schemes appears to have fallen flat.
